The Prairie Seed Council (PSC) was established to help address the need for suitable plant materials in the upper Texas coastal region. Conservation organizations, private landowners, and industry all realize a need for plant materials, primarily seeds, in order to initiate any sizeable prairie restorations.
These restorations will ultimately benefit plant and wildlife communities across the region by diversifying vegetation communities, replacing invasive plant species, and improving the quality of wildlife habitat. The PSC is comprised primarily of conservation practitioners from local organizations who are working toward this goal by engaging partners, raising awareness, and developing practical solutions.
