Thanks to 16 hearty volunteers that came out and worked in the rain for 2 hours, the Houston Arboretum now has 250 new prairie grass plants in the meadow. Big bluestem, Indian grass, Switch grass, Inland sea oats, Canada wild rye, Gulf coast Muhly, and Side oats were all represented. The rain turned the rock hard ground into something you could actually get a shovel into without too much effort so we did not mind getting a little wet. Thanks to all who came out to help and we look forward to another day of Meadow Mania in the fall.
