Landowners
Many landowners who own a farm, ranch, or natural area worry about the future of their land. Some want to preserve the Texas landscape, and worry it will be lost once they are no longer able to own and manage the property. Others want to keep land in agriculture for local farmers and ranchers. And many landowners want to preserve open and connected spaces to help maintain the biodiversity of the coastal prairie, provide essential wildlife habitat, and sustain a resilient landscape.
As a landowner, your participation in the Texas Grasslands and Savannas Initiative (TGSI) or the Texas Coastal Prairie Initiative (TCPI) places you at the forefront of conserving Texas' natural legacy. These initiatives offer you the chance to permanently protect and enhance your land while securing its future for generations to come. By joining, you gain access to financial incentives, expert guidance, and a support network of conservation partners—all dedicated to helping you maintain the beauty and productivity of your land.
Together, we can ensure that Texas' prairies, grasslands, and savannas continue to thrive, preserving the land you love as a lasting gift for your family and the future.

Why Partner with Us
Landowners who enter into conservation easements with one of the partner organizations of TGSI or TCPI benefit from significant tax deductions, estate planning advantages, and the ability to preserve their land’s natural state for future generations. They also gain flexibility in managing their land while contributing to long-term environmental protection.
Additionally, habitat management projects offer funding and guidance to enhance land productivity while maintaining ecological balance.
Both options provide landowners with flexibility and support from a robust network of partners, including government agencies like Natural Resources Conservation Service, conservation organizations like the Coastal Prairie Conservancy and WHF, and local communities.
